Don’t forget your Daily Bread

Convinced you need to start reading the Bible on a daily basis but not sure where to start? Looking for some focus in your devotional life that will give you a solid overview of the Gospels, the Psalms & Proverbs, the Prophets or indeed the entire Bible? Lifechurch.tv has compiled a personalized online Bible reading and discussion resource called YouVersion which is really worth checking out.

Sign up, create your profile, then choose from over 20 different reading plans, from those designed to take you through the entire Bible in 90 days (11 chapters per day - not for the faint of heart!) to more reasonable plans which take you through all four Gospels in 30 days, or the plan I’m currently following called “The Essential 100” which includes the 100 most essential chapters in the Good Book.

You can choose from a bunch of different translations as well, so if you’re someone who thinks the King James Version is the only truly inspired word of God, they’ve got you covered. Or if you’d rather skip all the “thees”, “thous” and “hithertos”, there’s a good selection of more modern translations as well. My favourite is the New Living Translation.

No time to read the Bible on your computer screen? No problem. They have a neat little mobile app for whatever smart phone you’re carrying so you can access your daily readings on the go and read some Truth while you’re waiting in line at Starbucks. Cool.

And best of all, it’s free! Thanks LifeChurch!

So no more excuses. Get into the Word today, friends. It’ll change your life, I promise!
